11/9/11 - The next trip is going to be Thanksgiving Week November 22nd - 27th
The Thanksgiving trip is coming up soon (two weeks away, yes TWO!). I believe I heard from some of you that Spangler Hills is the place this year, but as usual if the group prefers someplace else let me know. I plan on heading out on early on Thanksgiving week to try get a good camp spot, we do not want a repeat of last year of trying to find a spot in a crowd. Dove Springs, Spangler and Calico seem to fill up quickly these days and the good flat spots are gone quick. I assume I will be the first up, if not please call me and let me know. As usual look for the Desertriders.org signs, I will have them with me and will be putting them up as soon as I can. I will also be emailing directions to everyone on where we will be camping once everyone confirms the location.
I am trying to get an estimate as to the number of people we will have and whether or not we will be doing our traditional Thanksgiving pot luck. The past years we have eaten great on Thanksgiving day, Scott and Connie are ready to smoke the turkeys again for us this year. So let me know if you are interested in doing the pot luck and what you like to bring.
As usual I will be sending out another email informing everyone on where the campsite is and how many people we will have for the pot luck. So keep an eye out ofr my emails. See everyone in a few weeks.
