Stoddard Valley

 

Dry Camping - As usual with everyplace we go, we pack it in and we pack it out. Bring water, food and Firewood along with everything else you will need. If you do forget something Barstow is only 20 minutes down the road.

 

Wet Camping - None

 

Riding - Rocky and sandy but with lots of great areas for kids to ride around in along with plenty of trails and hills around for the more experienced rider.  All in all it a great place for the whole family no matter what the skill level is.  

 

Location - Stoddard Valley is located 12 miles south of Barstow on Highway 247.

Directions from Los Angeles:
Option 1:
Take the 405 north to Highway 14 north
Take the 14 north towards Lancaster and then take the 138 east
Stay on the 138 until you hit the 18
Take the 18 East to the 15 North
Go north on the 15 for almost 35 miles to Barstow
Get off on Bartow Road / Highway 247 and go south, the turn off is about 8.5 miles from the freeway offramp, if you hit the Slash X Café you have gone to far. The entrance is on the right heading south west about 100 yards before the Slash X Café
Follow the road (couple of right turns) about 1.5 miles until you get to the power lines, start looking to the right for us.
We camp usually by the power lines, so keep an eye out for the K&K markers.

Option 2:
Take the 405 north to Highway 14 north
Take the 14 north to Mojave and then take the 58 east
Stay on the 58 until you hit the 15
Take the 15 north for about 1 mile
